Leadership for a new chapter
Pastor Daniel Aleman leads the 71st Street congregation alongside Elders Josue Aleman and Abraham Frausto, supported by the faithful mentorship of longtime pastor John Adame.

Pastor Daniel leads our congregation in worship, teaching, and pastoral care. On August 1, 2026, he received his pastoral license during a special afternoon service. We give thanks for this milestone and his continued service to the congregation.

Called to shepherd and serve.
On January 31, 2026, the congregation confirmed the calling of brothers Josue Aleman and Abraham Frausto to eldership through the laying on of hands and anointing by West Coast District Superintendent Larry Zaragoza and Pastor Daniel Aleman.

A biblical model of leadership
For several years, Josue and Abraham had already been helping Pastor Daniel shepherd the church. Following renewed study and reflection after the 2025 convention, the congregation recognized eldership not simply as an elected term, but as a calling from God—confirmed by the church for the work of shepherding, anointing, laying hands on the sick, teaching, and spiritual care.
Longtime pastor and mentorJohn Adame was raised in the Church of God (Seventh Day) here in Sacramento. After high school he served in the United States Army in Vietnam, an experience that deepened his awareness of God’s protection and calling.
Years later, a conversation with a friend prompted John to respond personally to that calling. He was baptized on September 14, 1994, and soon began teaching Sabbath School, first in English and later in both English and Spanish. His service grew to include preaching and leadership within the congregation.
Pastor John pursued theological training and completed his coursework through Grace School of Theology. He was ordained as a licensed minister on April 1, 2009. After many years of pastoral service, he stepped back from day-to-day leadership and continues to encourage and mentor the church’s current leadership.
