A Spirit-Filled Church on Co-Mission

A church can fill a calendar without becoming clearer about its calling. The year begins further back: Jesus has died, risen and opened the Scriptures to His disciples. Before they carry a message into the world, they receive both the message and the promise of power. What changes when we understand our work as participation in His?

Pastor Daniel connects Luke’s resurrection account with Acts 1. The mission begins with Christ’s work, and witness depends on the Spirit. The apostles’ eyewitness role is distinctive; our invitation is to share the forgiveness and transformation we have received, without pretending to occupy their place.

We do not have to invent a savior for our neighbors. We bear witness to the One who has already acted. That shifts the question from what will make our congregation impressive to what will help someone encounter Christ.

A church larger than familiar faces

Later, Pastor Daniel’s reading of Ephesians 2 asks whether our picture of the church extends beyond people we already know. Christ’s reconciliation challenges superiority and separation, including the boundaries we carry in our own hearts.

Praying for other congregations and their leaders becomes a concrete expression of co-mission. The invitation is to recognize a shared work whose center is Christ, rather than measure its value only by what happens within our own walls.
